The brand seeks to claim a large piece of the stagnant frozen pie category, with its new full-size gelato pie, launching in Turtle and Seasonal Pumpkin flavors in time for fall. 

ATLANTA – Revolution Gelato, the award-winning plant-based line of gelato and novelties, is taking their defiantly dairy-free movement to the next level with a launch of two new full-size gelato pie offerings. 

The first-to-market gelato pie creations, including Turtle Gelato Pie  and Seasonal Pumpkin Gelato Pie flavors, are designed to make it easier and more exciting for families and groups of friends to incorporate better-tasting, plant-based desserts into their lives. The pies deliver on the decadent taste and creamy texture of traditional dairy ice cream, combined with a rich pie crust and toppings.

“We recognized a gap in the market for clean-ingredient, plant-based, shareable frozen desserts. Nobody else is doing this,” says Jared Olkin, Founder. “With social gatherings on the rise, the Gelato Pie line is a fun way to celebrate with friends and family, and make it easier to serve plant-based desserts for any occasion.” 

The brand debuted the gelato pies at Expo West 2022, where it was well received, and named to multiple “best-of-show” lists. Alessandra Franco of Green Queen Media said of the gelato pies, “The Pumpkin had me at hello. I love gelato, I love pumpkin, I love pies. Thank you Revolution Gelato for bringing all of these three things together in an insanely good plant-based dessert.” 

The brand seeks to bring innovation to a grocery aisle that hasn’t evolved in decades. In the last year, the dairy-free ice cream & novelties categories have grown faster than the dairy ice cream & novelties categories (Nielsen MULO L52 weeks ending 4/17/2022). The frozen pies and shells category, however, has been in a steady decline, nearly vacant of any plant-based, clean ingredient offerings. Retailers have expressed interest in revitalizing this category, and see Revolution Gelato Pies as a unique solution that consumers will love. 

Flavors include:

Turtle Gelato Pie featuring a caramel gelato filling, with a chocolate cookie crust, toasted pecans, caramel, and chocolate.

Pumpkin Gelato Pie, a seasonal offering, will feature gelato made with real pumpkin and spices in a graham cracker crust. 

Revolution Gelato Pies will be going into production this summer 2022 and hitting shelves in September, just in time for the holidays, with a suggested retail price of $19.99.
